Dr. Jennifer Hucks Featured in USC Times Vol.27, no.1
February 2016

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, commonly known as COPD, is a group of several diseases that are the main cause of death from respiratory failure, according to the CDC. In the article, Dr. Jennifer Hucks explains and clarifies the disease, saying that, as we’ve become more and more industrialized, we’re all exposed to more carbons and pollutions so there has been a rise in COPD and respiratory failure that is unrelated to tobacco use. This means that seemingly healthy individuals are more at risk than ever before. With respiratory failure, prevention is more a matter of early diagnosis, proper long-term treatment, and pneumonia vaccinations for people over 65 or those already diagnosed with a respiratory condition. She also highlights our clinic by saying that our seven practitioners are more equipped and better trained to handle these cases because we provide multi-specialty collaboration.
